EAC was tasked to provide multi-discipline Engineering and Architectural services for the restoration of the Post Headquarters at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, a turn of the century neo-classical structure.

The Building, listed on the State Historic Register, was severely damaged by fire.  The team conducted an initial study to assess and inventory the damaged building elements and services.  A report was issued which assimilated these special design situations and made recommendations for methods of repair.  New HVAC, lighting, power, fire alarm, sprinkler system, and telecommunications systems were sensitively integrated into the existing historic building fabric.  Space planning, interior design, shop drawing review and construction phase services were also provided.  Materials containing lead and asbestos were abated.

All work was performed in accordance with fire, energy conservation, life safety, historic preservation, and barrier-free regulations.
