EAC converted the 11,000 square foot rectilinear historic structure from a metalworking shop into two levels of 22,000 sq.ft. high tech office space.  The elegant new space includes a two story gathering space, which reveal parts of the historic buildings structure. The program requirements included the design of several VTC (video teleconferencing) rooms, secure meeting rooms, and a large multi-purpose auditorium. The A/E challenges were integrating a new structural and mechanical system, while converting the historic building to an office space and being sensitive to the State Historic Preservation Office standards and the Secretary of Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
