EAC surveyed and analyzed the existing HVAC and electrical systems to Building 900 which was originally built in the 1950's with several subsequent additions, expanding the building to 70,000 sq.ft. With each addition, the mechanical and electrical systems were modified and/or expanded on a piece meal basis. A concept design was prepared to evaluate HVAC schemes, and develop a construction phasing plan. New design consisted of VAV system, with variable frequency drives, direct digital controls, upgrading of electric service, repair and alteration of lighting and fire sprinkler systems and systems furniture.  Central steam with hot water conversion and a central chiller were utilized. Asbestos and lead were managed and abated. The building consists of offices, conference rooms, and laboratories.
